Aren't they proud of themsleves?

Well, the GOP should be proud of forcing Sen. Larry Craig to resign. Now, only if they would go after Sen. David Vitter the same way they cut down Craig's career. The fact and the matter is that Craig is definitely not the only GOP personality to get caught with his pants down. In the spring, Deb Jeane Palfrey revealed that Louisiana's junior senator (Vitter) was one of her tens of thousands of clients since the 1980s. And what does Wendy Vitter do? Stand by him, backing off from media rumors that she was going to castrate her Senator husband. And the Grand Ole Party? Follow Wendy's lead.

Repulsive. Just absolutely repulsive. This behavior is TOTALLY unacceptable for our elected leaders, regardless of political party. And all of this nonsense bring me to this. What if our government officials had to follow a personal conduct policy similar to what the National Football League's commish, Roger Goodell, put in place? If they had to do that, then the GOP would be very shorthanded in grassroots, the state governors, the state legislators, the US House, and the US Senate; while the Dems would lose very few of its people, including Rep. William Jefferson of Louisiana and Los Angeles mayor Antonio Villaraigosa. Thereby, the party of "personal responsiblity" has become the party of corruption, while the party of individual freedom and personal responsibility -- the Democrats -- have been mostly clean with the exception of the aforementioned duo.

Many Republican analyst, including Mary Matalin (the wife of Democrat analyst James Carville), believe that the people will just forget about this in 2008. If the Dems are smart, they would listen to the progressive bloggers and beat the steady drum on the GOP scandals all the way up to Election Day (November 4, 2008). Let's see if the Dems will listen to the bloggers.
