Arizona State honchos drop national champion cheer squad, a call to students to root against Sun Devils
Topic: Assholes in the news

TEMPE, Ariz. -- This story is about five months old, but I'm reporting on this now because college football season is about to begin.

If you ever heard of the saying "without cheerleaders, it is just not football", then that will be oh so true (at least this year) at Arizona State.

The fascists at Arizona State University completely cut its championship winning cheerleading squad from football and basketball.

They say it is for budget reasons. That is bullshit and everyone at ASU should know that their college board is blatantly lying about the reasons they cut the cheerleading suqad.

This blog will give the ASU people outraged over the cutting of the cheer squad the naked truth.

The college board cut the cheerleading squad because they were partying. The pictures are up on Asylum for the world to see.

These women are of legal age and they did nothing wrong that warranted ASU to cut the entire cheer program. The excuse ASU came up with for cutting the cheer squad is absolutely pitiful and because of that, I am urging the entire student body to show up at ASU's home games and root against the Sun Devils in every last one of them. Make the university pay the price for cutting their cheer program.

And for those who are in Tempe but don't attend the school, organize a protest of the school's outrageous decision to cut the cheer squad. And for those who are planning to transfer to a school in Arizona, don't transfer to ASU. Don't stop there. Don't shop there. If you are planning to transfer from ASU, then put rival Arizona near the top of your list.

Hitting the honchos at ASU where it hurts will send a strong message that cheerleaders are part of football and basketball.

Woman to get away with cold blooded murder of boyfriend in 2001
Topic: Assholes in the news

[cross-posted from Aiken Area Progressive]

A nationally syndicated show was the scene of much ruckus last week when Megan Vice, 37, called into the show and said that she premeditatedly killed her boyfriend over child support payments, while she was still pregnant. Video here.

This should be enough to get a conviction for this pitiful excuse of a woman. Should, but I seriously doubt it. This country has been notorious for letting people get away for murder. Just last week, a white male police officer from Lima, Ohio got away with killing a 26-year-old black woman and shooting her 1-year-old child, who had to get his finger amputated. Now, I fully expect that Ms. Vice will get away with cold-bloodedly killing her boyfriend with his own gun. These two cases illustrate EXACTLY why we need to bring back double jeopardy, and this case that was on the radio should be just what we need to make sure that the recently renewed anti-domestic violence law is applied equally, with the full prosecution and conviction of any woman who savagely kills a man.

John McCain is blatantly racist
Topic: Assholes in the news

[cross-posted at Aiken Area Progressive]

ORLANDO, Fla. -- Once again, John McCain has offered no plans in the past 61 days. The only thing that he has offered in this period is blatantly racist attacks against Sen. Barack Obama.

Case in point: an ad on the GOP candidate's web page calling Sen. Obama as Moses.

Yesterday afternoon, McCain defended these despicable attack ads as "having fun". I'll tell McCain right here, right now: THERE IS NOTHING FUNNY ABOUT YOUR RACIST ADS.

McCain has become the most despicable and most dishonorable person ever to run for the highest office in the land.

McCain has blatantly dishonored our troops by voting against no fewer than seven items related to our servicepeople, thereby making his record on our troops far worse than Sen. Obama's.

McCain has falsely accused Sen. Obama of shooting hoops in Germany when that actually happened in Kuwait AFTER his visit with troops in the country just to the southeast of Iraq.

And perhaps the most racist ad of all time (prior to Friday's ad on the McCain web page) was one of Britney Spears and Paris Hilton with Obama.

These ads show that John McCain is nothing short of a disgusting has-been who has shown utter contempt towards African-Americans, women, LGBT people and our troops.

The McCain campaign was the one who injected race into this campaign. And McCain was the one who started all of this last weekend. McCain has shown that he is even worse than the Ku Klux Klan when it comes to the treatment of African-Americans.

On November 4, reject racist John McCain and his racist Republican party.

Kyle Payne is no friend of women
Topic: Assholes in the news

[cross-posted from Aiken Area Progressive]

STORM LAKE, Iowa -- Via Ren and Cara Kulwicki.

So, I have noticed that a lot of the blogs have uncovered the cold, hard facts concerning Kyle Payne, 22. He masquerades himself as part of the anti-porn feminist movement, but as no fewer than 18 blogs have reported, including the three aforementioned, he was arrested for sexual assault of an unconscious woman on Valentine's Eve.

Kyle Payne was arrested for breaking into the room of and assaulting an unconcious female student at his University while he was a resident advisor. He plead guilty to felony attempted burglary in the second degree and two counts of invasion of privacy. Kyle Payne, feminist ally and enemy of pornography, agrees that "with an intent to arouse my sexual desire, I photographed and filmed Jane Doe and her breast without her consent."

Yeah. Hypocrisy at its total worst. Mr. Payne has already pled guilty to burglary and invasion of privacy. Here is the court document about the sexual assault:

In documents filed with the court, Payne agrees that “with an intent to arouse my sexual desire, I photographed and filmed Jane Doe and her breast without her consent.” A portion of the plea agreement stating that Payne was of sound mind when the incident took place in early 2007 was stricken from the document, leaving only the portion where Payne agrees that he is currently of sound mind.

At the time of the incident, Payne had been employed by Buena Vista University as a dormitory resident adviser. Police reports indicate that while attending to an intoxicated and unconscious female student, Payne reportedly assaulted and photographed her. The guilty plea entered Monday did not include assault charges. Tips received by police and campus security following the incident led to a 10-month investigation that resulted in Payne’s arrest in February.

He is now staring down a five year jail term and a $7,500.00 fine. But I wouldn't hold my breath for him wearing a prison jumpsuit. And one would certainly think that a strong anti-violence advocate would be in support of stiff penalties for sex crimes in the name of justice. Or maybe not.

As Mrs. Kulwicki mentions, there are strong male allies within the feminist movement. But Mr. Payne is actually a psuedo-feminist, in fact he is an enemy. And committing an act of sexual violence is never, ever an accident -- NO MATTER WHAT.

Also, his blog has been updated thrice since his plea nearly 240 hours ago on July 1.

I know women, many of them feminists, who have been distrustful of men due to past experiences. That is why Cara, Ren, Jill F., Daisy and Natalia among others have been working hard to make men like myself part of the feminist movement. Lord knows that I would love to see women and men one day live in peace and harmony. I can't blame any woman for feeling distrustful of men, especially those who were raped by men.

BTW, if formal sentencing is just around the corner. Belledame of Fetch Me My Axe has the lowdown on how those in the Storm Lake area can attend his sentencing -- and it is open to the public. If you live in the Storm Lake area, go and attend!

And Mr. Payne, please remove the blogs of all progressive South Carolinians and Americans form your blogroll at once!

It's still amnesty for telecoms
Topic: Assholes in the news
WASHINGTON -- What part of NO AMNESTY FOR TELECOMS don't Rep. Steny Hoyer (D-Md.) get?

He announced a so-called compromise that would give amnesty to telecoms who blatantly broke the law and violated our privacy.

Russ Feingold also calls it amnesty, or rather, capitulation:

The proposed FISA deal is not a compromise; it is a capitulation. The House and Senate should not be taking up this bill, which effectively guarantees immunity for telecom companies alleged to have participated in the President's illegal program, and which fails to protect the privacy of law-abiding Americans at home. Allowing courts to review the question of immunity is meaningless when the same legislation essentially requires the court to grant immunity. And under this bill, the government can still sweep up and keep the international communications of innocent Americans in the U.S. with no connection to suspected terrorists, with very few safeguards to protect against abuse of this power. Instead of cutting bad deals on both FISA and funding for the war in Iraq, Democrats should be standing up to the flawed and dangerous policies of this administration.

“No matter how they spin it, this is still immunity,” said Kevin Bankston, a senior lawyer for the Electronic Frontier Foundation, a privacy group that has sued over the president’s wiretapping program. “It’s not compromise, it’s pure theater.”

The ACLU went further in its attack of this amnesty bill:

With news that a surveillance bill may be voted on in the House of Representatives as early as tomorrow, the American Civil Liberties Union sternly warned members against voting for the legislation. House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer (D-MD) has worked closely with the White House and has led the effort to gut the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) and give the telephone companies what amounts to a pardon for breaking the law.

The following may be attributed to Caroline Fredrickson, director of the ACLU’s Washington Legislative Office:

"Congress is poised to once again pass disastrous surveillance legislation, now upping the ante with a thinly-veiled giveaway to some major campaign donors.

"This bill allows for mass and untargeted surveillance of Americans’ communications. The court review is mere window-dressing – all the court would look at is the procedures for the year-long dragnet and not at the who, what and why of the spying. Even this superficial court review has a gaping loophole – ‘exigent’ circumstances can short cut even this perfunctory oversight since any delay in the onset of spying meets the test and by definition going to the court would cause at least a minimal pause. Worse yet, if the court denies an order for any reason, the government is allowed to continue surveillance throughout the appeals process, thereby rendering the role of the judiciary meaningless. In the end, there is no one to answer to; a court review without power is no court review at all."

"The Hoyer/Bush surveillance deal was clearly written with the telephone companies and internet providers at the table and for their benefit. They wanted immunity, and this bill gives it to them.

"The telecom companies simply have to produce a piece of paper we already know exists, resulting in immediate dismissal. That’s not accountability. Loopholes and judicial theater don’t do our Fourth Amendment rights justice. In the end, this is politics. This bill does nothing to keep Americans safe and is a constitutional farce.

"The process by which this deal has come about has been as secretive as the warrantless wiretapping program it is seeking to legitimize. While members and organizations who would seek to fiercely protect the civil liberties of Americans have been denied a seat at the table, one wonders how present the powerful telecom lobby has been.

"Leadership should be leading to protect the Constitution, not bowing to pressure from Republicans, the White House, and the telecommunications companies.

"The ACLU is asking Congress, as the final minutes tick by, to stand up and do the right thing."

All that for nothing. No wonder why this Congress has a 23% approval rating. Tell Congress to defeat this amnesty bill, NOW!!!

NASCAR sued by ex-employee
Topic: Assholes in the news

[cross-posted from Aiken Area Progressive]

DAYTONA BEACH -- Mauricia Grant, 32, has sued the number 2 sport in America for a quarter-billion dollars, saying that she has was discriminated against because of both her race and gender, was sexually harassed and slut-shamed, and that she was wrongully dismissed in October 2007. Here is some of what she said:

"I loved it. It was great, exciting adrenaline-filled job where I worked with fast cars and the best drivers in the world. But there was an ongoing daily pattern of harassment. It was the nature of the people I worked with, the people who ran it, it trickled down from the top.

It's just the way things are in the garage."

In the lawsuit, Mrs. Grant says that she was referred to as "Nappy Headed Mo" and "Queen Sheba". She was also frightened by one official who made references to the Ku Klux Klan (KKK).

That's not all. Mrs. Grant says that she was also subjected to sexual advances from male co-workers, two of whom exposed their penises to her and made graphic, lewd jokes.

In all, 57 incidents of sexist and racist allegations are listed in a New York area District court.

Benedict P. Morelli is Mrs. Grant's lawyer. He compared Mrs. Grant's fight to Anucha Browne Sanders, who won $11,500,000.00 in a sex harassment lawsuit ironically enough, in October 2007, the same period in which Mrs. Grant was terminated.

Joe Balash, the Nationwide Series director, and assistant Series director Mike Dolan (no relation to the idiot who owns Cablevision and MSG) were among 23 NASCAR officials named as defendants.

As a fan of the sport, I am thoroughly appalled at what these men were doing to her. I hope that Brian France will make some major changes in the future to prevent another incident like this from ever happening again. Seems like every sport has asshats in them nowadays.

Jealous woman slaughters would-be father and ex
Topic: Assholes in the news

[cross-posted from my Blogspot, Aiken Area Progressive]

NEW YORK CITY -- A 34 year-old woman is in jail for maliciously killing her ex-boyfriend after he came to get his belongings. Via the New York Daily News (NY Daily News' story is in black).

If a Bronx woman couldn't have her young lover, she made sure no one else could, cops say.

Doomed Harry Ward, 22, showed up at Jackeline Brown's Tremont apartment Tuesday to collect his things and say goodbye to his 34-year-old ex, witnesses said.

But when Ward's new girlfriend, who is pregnant with his child, entered the home, Brown snapped and stabbed Ward to death, police said.

"I heard his piercing scream," said a neighbor who refused to give her name. "It went through to my bones."

Ward stumbled out the door, leaving a trail of blood from his chest, witnesses said. Brown, a mother of two, grabbed a towel and tried to stop the bleeding.

The pregnant woman "was fainting away, saying, 'That's my baby's daddy. That's my baby's daddy,'" the neighbor said.

Even as Ward was dying in the hallway, the women argued, witnesses said.

"He was breathing heavy, but he couldn't talk," said Edgar Guerrero, 15, who saw the fight. "They were both screaming about how she was pregnant. I was scared. I thought she was going to kill everybody." Brown told cops that Ward had arrived already stabbed, but they didn't buy her story. She was charged with murder and weapons possession.

I'm glad that NYPD didn't buy Ms. Brown's story. Her intent was clear and it was clear that she killed Mr. Ward in cold blood.

And all of the people who posted on the NY Daily News's boards should be ashamed of themselves. The misandrist assholes on the board were all blaming the victim for what this murderous woman did. Mr. Ward did nothing wrong. He was just packing up his stuff, about to leave.

Also, I don't want to hear things like the man shouldn't have brought his pregnant girlfriend to his ex's house. That is just an excuse for Ms. Brown's actions. She is a killer and she should be seen as such, not as this woman scorned. Condoning what Ms. Brown did is misandry at its worst.
