Person of the Week
Topic: Awards

The Person of the Week is an award doled out to the best person we can find.  This week, however, we have more than one (ten to be exact).  A half-dozen people and five groups are named Person of the Week.  We'll start with the groups.

The first Person of the Week Award will go to Planned Parenthood -- all 900+ affiliates.  This week, Planned Parenthood is taking the City of Aurora, Illinois to court for its illegal refusal to allow Planned Parenthood to relocate from Naperville to Aurora.  Give 'em hell Planned Parenthood!!!

The second Person of the Week award goes out to all of those, including my brother at South Carolina State and classic rock artist David Bowie, supporting the Jena (Louisiana) Six.  The case in that area shows what everyone in this country should know -- that we have two judicial systems -- one for the haves (Caucasian males) and one for the have nots (Caucasian women, LGBT people and people of color).

The third and fourth Person of the Week award goes out to both American naturists and Oakland, California.  The naturists get the award because they have successfully abolished anti-nudity laws in Raider Nation and are ready to do battle with every other place in this nation who dare resist our efforts in overturning anti-nudity laws.  Oakland gets the award for being the only place in this country with common sense by giving people their God-given right to be free and nude in public by abolishing all so-called "public indecency" laws that harm our nation and goes against everything our Constitution stands for.  Another piece of good news from Oakland: a 51-year-old male carpenter was acquitted of all charges, including public indecency.

And speaking of nude...that brings me to my next Person of the Week.  The fifth Person of the Week award goes out to the lactivists.  Like naturists, breast-feeding mothers are prosecuted and jailed for public indecency.  They sent a message to Applebee's by protesting outside of the Louisville, Kentucky chains.  Incidents such as the ones in Oakland and Louisville illustrate why all public indecency laws should be abolished.

The sixth Person of the Week goes out to a person named "higgism".  She posted a video on YouTube exposing the lies and slander of the anti-choice terrorists.  In the video, you can hear (and sometimes see) a man screaming anti-choice rants (surprise anyone?) and talking about how lipstick comes from aborted fetuses, which we all know is totally false.  Even though this video was posted in April or May, this video is getting more and more exposure now because of three of my favorite bloggers: Feministing head Jessica Valenti of New York City, Feministe head Jill, and Pandagon head Amanda Marcotte of Austin (although Amanda only has a sound clip of the "assembly" on her Podcast).

The seventh Person of the Week is Kyla Ebbert, and not because she looked great in her outfit, mind you.  Kyla gets the award for the same reason as Planned Parenthood got it -- for pointing out the injustices women STILL face in our society.  She was nearly kicked off a Southwest airline flight and, after her flight was over, was given a biblical-like lecture on decency (that word again) and proper dress.  This, from the same airline that in the progressive rock era, showed ads of scantily-clad women boarding one of their flights.

The eighth Person of the Week award goes out to Barry Manilow.  Manilow, like myself, wish that Mrs. Matt Hasselbeck would have resigned from the View.  Instead, she is still on the View, poisoning the show with her anti-American rants, alienating the target audience -- women.  As a result, he canceled the invitation.  In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if more men than women currently watch the View, since Manilow's friend, Rosie O'Donnell, was forced off the View.

The ninth and tenth Person of the Week awards go to Sally Fields and Kathy Griffin.  Sally Fields spoke out against the murder-for-oil in Baghdad and was not surprisingly, censored by Fox -- a pro-totalitarian channel that like Republicans, support a theocratic dictatorship.  Speaking of censorship, Griffin was also censored by E! and Fox because the thugs at the Catholic League objected to what she said.

And the 11th and final Person of the Week is Wendy Ellis.  She is proof that women always tell the truth, even those with sleazy jobs.  She implicated Sen. Vitter in another prostitution scandal.
